About the Role
We are seeking a true craftsman—a seasoned professional with 20+ years of hands-on experience across multiple trades—to join our top-rated team serving Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
This full-time W-2 position is Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. It's ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and can independently manage varied residential and light commercial projects from initial assessment through customer approval and payment.
We provide the customers, scheduling, administrative support and strength of the Ace Hardware brand. You bring the judgment, tools and craftsmanship to complete each project professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform residential and light commercial repairs and improvements with expert skill and efficiency.
- Independently assess projects, troubleshoot problems and determine the appropriate solution.
- Explain the scope of work, provide accurate on-site estimates and professionally manage customer expectations.
- Obtain required customer approvals and collect payment upon completion.
- Deliver exceptional workmanship and customer service.
- Record job progress, materials, photos, notes and customer updates using company software and mobile apps.
- Maintain organized tools, a clean work vehicle and a professional appearance.
- Leave every customer’s home cleaner and better than you found it.
Required Skills and Experience

20+ years of hands-on trade experience.

Strong proficiency in at least six of the following areas:
- Carpentry and finish carpentry
- Drywall repair and installation
- Tile and flooring installation
- Painting and finishing
- Minor electrical and plumbing repairs within company scope
- Exterior trim, siding, gutters and deck repairs
- Door and window installation and repair
- Kitchen and bathroom repairs or remodeling
- Able to work independently with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable using mobile apps, text, email and digital job-management tools.
- Able to work safely on ladders and at heights when required.
- Able to regularly lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform physical work requiring climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching and prolonged standing.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and required vehicle insurance.
- Reliable, reasonably presentable truck or van and a complete professional tool set.
- Clean, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must provide photos or other examples of past work and contactable professional references during the hiring process.
- Must pass a background check.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay: $30 per hour
- Performance and compensation reviews after the initial employment period
- Performance bonuses
